A Frank Ocean Interview...

First and foremost, shout out to my fellow Frank Ocean stans Zorina and Cha'le!

"Why do I like orange so much? I think I'm just tryna remind people to get their Vitamin C. Ya know...like their supplements.........and shit."

I'm not really sure how you can love music and not love Frank Ocean. Dude is amazing. I'm glad that GQ honored him because it's truly time for him to get ALL the way ON. (I would insert my begging for an album here, but I did that already so I won't bore you lol) Peep the swagged out interview below :)

"Baby you got me, don’t worry your pretty little heart..."

"Tell me that’s the money
Tell me I’m a star
Tell me that you’ll never break my pretty little heart
Say you’ll take me places
Everything’s okay
Tell me cause you know I need that pump up everyday."

I think that I just fell in love with music for the millionth time. I know that because when I heard this song, I was reminded that I STILL haven't found the words to describe that feeling you get when you listen to 20 seconds of a song and immediately know that it's going to be on repeat for days. I know that I just fell in love with music again because I just got jealous that I didn't write this. And it just got added to the my long list of songs that I wish I could have been in the studio to witness it being recorded.

Ladies and gentleman, this is GOOD MUSIC here. This might be the smoothest track I've heard in awhile. Robin Thicke is truly THAT DUDE. I'm excited about his new album because, let's be honest, it's not even possible for it to not be good. LOL

I need Robin Thicke and Lil' Wayne to make an album together. How ridiculously EPIC would that be?!?!? In the meantime, allow me to upgrade your life. You're welcome ;)

How could you not love him?

My boo Drizzy Drake stopped by Chelsea Lately last night. I enjoyed the interview so I figured I'd share. :)

Oh... and if you're not one of the 660,000 people who picked up "Take Care" last week, you might wanna go ahead and do that. It's the number one album on the charts for a reason.

Beyonce: Live at Roseland

Beyonce is purely amazing. I'm always inspired when I see these DVDs of her performances because the amount of work and talent that she displays is impeccable. She's clearly the best female performer of this generation. And after watching this, I couldn't even think of a runner-up.

I Put On: "You Da One" by Rihanna

I'm digging this new Rihanna track! It's produced by Ester Dean, who I think is extremely talented and underrated. But either way, peep the track below. Rihanna's new album "Talk That Talk" drops on November 18th.

In memory of Heavy D, I wanted to post one of my favorite songs by him. Rest in peace to a hip hop legend.

"Baby, look what you've allowed..."

"Stupidly. Truthfully.
I know you been so through with me.
You put up with my foolery.
I guess you got so used to me...
And my infidelity.
And through the bad you saw the better man in me."

In all seriousness, Trey Songz WENT IN on this Anticipation 2 mixtape. (Although, I'll have to be honest, I've only thoroughly listened to half of it. I skimmed through the second half because there was just some things that I HAD to hear again before I went to sleep last night. LOL)

One of which is "Me 4 U Infidelity 2," which is the most honest, selfish, amazing, ridiculous, double-standard filled, slow jam that you could (slowly) dougie to if you really wanted to take that route.

Oddly enough, almost exactly a year ago, I posted a blog about the death of chivalry and who's to blame for it. My conclusion was that obviously, men need to do better, but in addition to that, women need to stop allowing men to take advantage of them without consequences. Trey presents the perspective of the dude that's getting away with EVERYTHING.

He recognizes that he's wrong. He appreciates that she sticks around and remains supportive. But before the song is over, he says "You picked me up every time they put me down. You try to leave me, Im'ma tie you to the ground...Baby, look what you've allowed. I better not never find no nigga in my house." UMMMMM...excuse me Tremaine! WHAT?!?! What happened to the "I'm sorry. I'm not going to cheat on you anymore" line?

"She deserves something better and she know she does.
But I'm never gonna let her cuz she know my love
U can never find another man
Cuz I ain't never gonna understand."

This has GOT to be one of the most arrogant and selfish songs that I have ever heard in my life. Ironically, I LOVE IT. You have to appreciate honesty of this magnitude - for a man to know he's wrong, SAY he's wrong, and still expect support and loyalty. THEE AUDACITY. And you have to appreciate the musicality of it all. The drums. The chick in the background. The melodies. The way the beat drops in the middle of the first verse. And of course Trey's vocals are flawless.

It's songs like this that make Trey Songz a great artist. I have the utmost respect for anyone who can convey such raw and real emotion, despite whether or not they're dead wrong...(and know it.) If Anticipation 2 wasn't free, I would have definitely paid money for this. But since he released it as a free download, it's that much more amazing. Download the mixtape and listen to  "Me 4 U Infidelity 2" below. Your welcome. ;)
